Qatar's promising champion Mutaz Issa Barshim, was able during this season to break the Arab juniors record many times in international tournaments, where he scored the first time in April in Kuwait in the GCC Tournament for Juniors 2.21m and then broke it in Cairo in the Arab Championship for Juniors in May (2.23m), and the record in Sweden July 7 (2.25m).
At the Asian Games, he set again a new Arab record for juniors by jumping 2m31. His intention in Moncton 2010 was to be the first Qatari to bring a Gold medal in World Championships, then he actually did by flying over the 2m30 high jump bar.
This record is also considered as Qatari standard record for juniors and seniors. Issa succeeded also during his training camp in Sweden in February to break Qatari indoor record for juniors and seniors (2.25m).
Finally he breaks the Arab record 4 times and the juniors and seniors also, and 1 record in the indoor for juniors and seniors, 14 records this season.
What's next Mutaz? An Olympic title in London 2012?
