Justin Gatlin's Come-Back!!
Justin Gatlin won the 100 meter race in 10.24 seconds on Tuesday 3 August, at Bigvank Kuldliiga meet in Rakvere - Estonia. In his first competition after a four year doping ban. Gatlin's time was nearly 0.4s off the race that made him Olympic champion in Athena 2004 with a time of 9.85s. Gatlin won his qualifying heat earlier Tuesday in 10.34. No athlete of the other competitors at the meet had a personal best below 10s.
Gatlin won gold in the 100 at the 2004 Athens Olympics in 9.85s. He won the 100 and 200 at the 2005 world championships in Helsinki, but was banned from the sport after testing positive in April 2006 for excessive testosterone. The ban ended last month.
He is set to compete again Sunday in Tallinn, the Estonian capital.
