Andrea Paoli, a Lebanese 18 years old girl, who maybe don't have anything related to track and field other than her brother Philippe Paoli, who's one of the best young Lebanese sprinters, but that girl, who's only 18 years old, won a Bronze Medal in the Asian Games in Taekwando: Girls under 57kg!

From Lebanon, and specifically track and field athletics, Jean-Claude Rabbath, Gretta Taslakian and Ali Hazer will represent Lebanon in High Jump, Sprint and Decathlon respectively.

Back to Taekwando, where the Youth Olympic Silver Medalist Michel Samaha, is also going to participate in the Asian Games where we expect from him another medal, but this time in Asia and another Lebanese Medal!

These young athletes, like Andrea and Michel, needs a support from you as Lebanese and from their country. Support, whenever is psychological or financial, is the major difference between the other countries and us. We HAVE the talented elements! We just need to support them! In track and field or in others sports, because it's the same problem in all sports here in Lebanon.

Andrea, here we tell you that you made us proud! You and Michel, are an example for young athletes, and a long long way is waiting you so does success!
Congrats for y ... Read more »

Many of you, who participated in the BLOM Beyrouth Marathon 2010, did criticize the unsuccessful event on his/her own way. That's why, on Monday November 15th, Roger Bejjani, the president of Inter-Lebanon Club, organized a  general runner's meeting at UPT (Université Pour Tous), St. Joseph’s University in Achrafieh - Beyrouth, to discuss the 2010 Marathon race and strive to reach a consensus regarding the course of action to be taken for the year 2011. He aslo met May Khalil the day after and discussed the case of the 8th edition of BLOM Beyrouth Marathon.

After that, in his letter to Beyrouth Marathon, Roger Bejjani said:

As intended, we discussed the problems experienced at the BLOM Beirut Marathon with BMA and specifically with its President, fellow runner May el Khalil. I have always believed that the real nature of people irresistibly emerges when a serious problem occurs. It is at that particular moment that generosity, courage, forgiveness, nobility and love, the big 5 as I call them, make a statement….or not.

On a very wet day in the fall of 2001, May displayed, albeit unwillingly, the "right stuff” that shapes her character and makes her what she is. Nine years later in a different, less critical, but still serious scenario, May has proven once more that as a runner and as a person she’s one of the very few who possesses the big 5. I criticized ... Read more »

It was written in the Jamaica Observer, that, in the new book "My Story 9.58 - Being the World's Fastest Man", written by Usain Bolt himself and published by Ian Randle, Bolt is talking about a long term goal which aim the 2011 World championship in Korea and 2012 Olympic Games in London. He said that the 9.4 should be done in these two major championships, at 25 years old.
In another hand, Bolt was talking about his technique and what his coach think it is wrong and should be improved: his start and like he said, his worst habit looking from side to side. Bolt has improved from 9.72 to 9.69 then to 9.58 and now he still believe he can run 9.4 if he work hard. knowing the limit of the human body, he don't think that any human can run below 9.4, but he intend to be the first man to run under 19s on the 200m not knowing the limits at this distance.

In my point of view, beside Bolt's character that we all know on th

The Lebanese Athletics Federation just set new reforms at their General Assembly, that will help improving Track & Field in Lebanon. In this reform:

- Young athletes will freely commit to a club of his/her choice at the age of 18, without the need of any release. (When before, athletes had to wait till the age of 23 to have the right to move to another club).
- The years committed when signing up with a club have been reduced from 3 to 2 years.
- The minimum age to be elected as a member of the Lebanese Athletics Federation directorate has been decreased to 18.

It's maybe the first time that Lebanon collect 10 medals in one competition!
