Men's 100 meters world record progression: (From 1912)
The first record in the 100 meters for men was recognized by the International Amateur Athletics Federation, now known as the International Association of Athletics Federations, 10.6h seconds set by Don Lippincott from USA, in Stockholm - SWE on 6 July 1912. The record now is 9.58 seconds set by Usain Bolt from Jamaica, in Berlin - GER on 16 August 2009.
